Content from the 2007-2008 school
year. This year the administration was caught up in a
nationally reported "pennygate" story and also with repeated complaints
from parents about bullying which cast a shadow over the school year.
A new math program was approved and some big capital improvement
projects were started, but overall progress seemed stalled.

Content from the 2006-2007 school
year. This was a year in which a new administration set about
implementing new plans and policies and perhaps overreached in a few
areas. The school board, meanwhile, continued in the eyes of many
to go around in circles.

2005-2006 school year. This was a transitional year when
school construction was being completed, an interim superintendent took
the helm, a huge influx of new teachers came aboard, rising energy and
other costs wreaked havoc, a new mix of school board members began
questioning the status quo, and a new superintendent was hired after an
intensive search.

2004-2005 school year. This was a dark year when the school
district began to come apart at the seams. Controversy over
leadership, questions about standardized testing and curriculum, heavy
staff politics and in-fighting, and other issues eventually led to a
brain-drain of good teachers leaving the district and a superintendent
who also left the district. The final insult was a budget defeated
and heavily cut by the township council.
