Hand-picked Principal looking elsewhere? Our esteemed Superintendent selected two new Principals this school year, after forcing one out late last year. The new Principal at the Middle School, Johanna Ruburto, has spent all of two months in her new position collecting on her hefty $115,000.00 salary. Yet, money is apparently not everything. We now know from a newspaper article and from the open meetings held in Franklin Township (Hunterdon) that Johanna was one of two final candidates for a Superintendent position there! Her contract can be terminated by her or by the Board with 60 days written notice. [Note: Johanna is said to have decided to stay for now, according to sources inside the school.] Of course, none of this information was forthcoming from our Superintendent or our School Board. Parents have been left twisting in the wind once again. Is it not odd that Johanna would choose to look elsewhere or continue a previous search elsewhere after only two months in our district? The official reason will likely be that she saw a "tremendous" opportunity in Franklin, or that she really wants to be a Chief School Administrator. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the real reason is related to something else. Perhaps Johanna is not as impressed with our Superintendent's vituperative management style as she originally thought. Perhaps Johanna finds discomfort in the complaints of parents who are tired of being ignored, distracted and pilloried by the Superintendent. If, indeed, our Middle School Principal is moves on to greener pastures, who would our esteemed Superintendent pick next for the position? What kind of candidate would choose to sign on to a district with such negative press, such a domineering Superintendent, such unhappy parents, and such a milquetoast Board? |
